Tomorrow morning will be horribly hectic! Tracy leaves at 6 a.m. on her flight back to Japan. I have to also drive my parents to the airport for their flight to California. They're going to a national sales meeting my Dad's old company is holding. He retired from the company in December and they paid for his and mom's flights and hotel room so he could attend.
Mom found out that the hotel they'll be staying in accepts pets and they joked about wanting to take Beast with them. Beast seems to love it whenever someone's about to leave on a trip, but I don't think she likes going on trips. She meows pitifully once inside a car. I can't imagine how she'd be on a plane. She mostly loves these trips for the luggage. She likes to lay in or on people's luggage, whether it's packed or not. She usually lounges about in Tracy's luggage, but Tracy's managed to pack it up and move it so she can't lay on it. Still, she did get to lay in the new luggage for a while.
Then it'll be three days and I'll have to go back and pick up Mom and Dad. Ugh. I hate how packed the area around Plank Rd. and the airport gets. I seriously hate driving there, but at least it's nowhere near as bad as Airline Hwy by Women's Hospital. Talk about a nightmare! Everyone and their dog seems to go straight for that one large intersection. The stop and go traffic is horrendous.
So, what will *I* be doing? Maybe some light shopping. Nothing to expensive, mostly getting more food for dinners and perhaps clothes and, if I find a good deal, perhaps something for my new computer. I'm determined to bulk it up even more than the Mac. I'd like to also add in more RAM (it takes up to 8, but currently has only 3), but I think that could wait unless my work on the computer is really affected. It shouldn't be, though!
I also got my Mom's Everex Cloudbook. That's not such a yay thing. I'm just using it to store writing and stuff, nothing big, but essentially there really *isn't* much you can do on the Cloudbook. So, if you're looking for a cheap notebook to travel with, don't look here! My Mom bought it to take to work with her, but almost immediately, she had problems with it and the linux gOS. We managed to get it installed and running, but after that it started acting up. It was near impossible to restart for a while and the only way to shut it off was to remove the battery. We sent it back and they fixed it, but it's still not a good work computer -- it's slow. Very slow. It also heats like a bitch. My Toshiba heated up some too, but nowhere near as bad or as fast as this! It's also got a loud fan that doesn't seem to work so well. Yeah. So it'll mostly be used for basic stuff. It won't be on much, that's for sure. My mom has replaced it with a lovely blue Acer that is much better and as she delightedly told me again and again "It has Windows!".
